How it Works

Being a direct pharmacy, we offer a uniquely personal experience for our patients that focuses on individualized care, transparent pricing, and enhanced communication.

  • PROVIDER SENDS PRESCRIPTION

    Have your HFM doctor or any licensed healthcare provider send your prescription to us. We can also transfer your prescriptions from another pharmacy.

  • RECEIVE YOUR PRESCRIPTION

    We will notify you when your prescription is ready. You can either pick it up in person during office hours, we can load it in our 24/7 pickup locker, or we can mail it to you. The choice is yours.

  • REFILL YOUR PRESCRIPTION

    Conveniently request your refills by calling into our automated system (423) 406-6764 or using our DRX pharmacy system web app.

Secure 24/7 Prescription Pickup in Hixson

Our pickup locker lets you collect a ready prescription before work, after hours or on the weekend—even when the pharmacy counter is closed.

Once your prescription is ready, a pharmacist will contact you for any required medication counseling. After the medication is placed in the locker, you will receive a text message and email with a pickup code and QR code. At the locker, scan the code or enter it manually, verify the requested patient information, pay by card and retrieve the prescription from the unlocked compartment.

Prescriptions may remain in the locker for up to seven days. Contact the pharmacy if you need a different pickup arrangement.

Common generic prescriptions

We stock many generic medications commonly used for ongoing and short-term treatment. Inventory, acquisition cost and prescription requirements can change, so contact us for a current price and availability quote.

Brand-name medications

We can order many brand-name medications, although the savings may be smaller than they are for generic prescriptions. Ask the pharmacy team for current pricing and availability.

Pet prescriptions

We can fill many non-controlled, non-compounded medications prescribed by a licensed veterinarian. Ask your veterinarian to send the prescription to Hitchcock Family Pharmacy.

Medications we do not fill

We do not currently fill controlled-substance prescriptions or compounded medications. Contact us if you are unsure whether a medication is available.

Pharmacy FAQs
Do I need to be Hitchcock Family Medicine patient to use the pharmacy?
No. The pharmacy is open to everyone. Patients from any provider, employer group, and the public are welcome.
Do you accept insurance?
No. we are self-pay only. We provide medications at transparent, wholesale pricing, often 70-90% less than traditional pharmacy prices.
Are your medications always cheaper than insurance?
Not always. The lowest option depends on the medication, strength, quantity, current acquisition cost and your pharmacy benefits. Request a current quote and compare it with your insurance copay or other available price
Can I use my HSA or FSA card to pay for my prescription?
Yes. Many patients use HSA/FSA funds to pay for their prescriptions.
Do you stock all medications?
We stock many common generic medications and can price or order many other non-controlled, non-compounded prescriptions. We can also order many brand-name medications, although the discount may be smaller. Contact us for current availability.
Can you fill pet medications?
Yes! Simply ask your veterinarian to send your pet's prescriptions to us.
How do I get my prescriptions?
Pick up at our Hixson location during business hours.
Pick up from our secure 24/7 pickup locker at our Hixson location.
Shipping to your home (in states where we are licensed).
How does the 24/7 pickup locker work?
Once your prescription is ready, our pharmacist will first contact you for any required medication counseling. After your medications are loaded into the locker, you will receive a text message and email with a pickup code and QR code for access.
When you arrive, you can either scan the QR code from your text/email or enter your pickup code at the locker. You’ll verify the patient’s name and date of birth, complete payment at the card reader, and the locker door will automatically open.
Is the pharmacy staffed 24 hours a day?
No. The pharmacy is staffed Monday–Friday from 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m. The secure locker is accessible 24/7 for prescriptions that have already been prepared and placed there for pickup.
How long will my prescription stay in the locker?
Prescriptions will remain in the locker for up to 7 days before being mailed to you.
How do I pay for my prescription?
If you pick up your prescription in our office during business hours a team member will process your payment at that time (cash or card).
If you pick up your prescription from our pickup locker, you will pay through the locker itself (card only).
If we are shipping your prescription to you, we will charge the payment source we have on file for you when we ship your medication (card only).
Can I transfer my prescriptions to you?
Yes, simply ask your provider or current pharmacy to transfer your prescriptions to us.
