What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care means healthcare directly from your doctor, without insurance barriers. It’s simple, personal, and transparent.

Direct Primary Care, or DPC, is a membership-based approach to healthcare. Instead of billing insurance for routine primary care, you pay a clear monthly fee for direct access to your physician, visits as often as medically needed, and help coordinating the rest of your care.
Removing insurance from the primary care relationship gives your physician more time to listen, understand the full picture, and make decisions with you. The result is care that feels personal, accessible, and straightforward.
Direct Primary Care is not health insurance. Many members keep insurance for hospitalization, surgery, specialty care, and other major medical needs while using Hitchcock Family Medicine for their everyday care.

We focus on relationships with our patients and ensuring they are an active part of their healthcare team. Our Direct Primary Care model allows us to spend more time with our patients to get to know them better and, ultimately, provide better care. Instead of a per visit fee, our patients pay a flat monthly membership fee per person. We do offer a discounted monthly membership rate for children ages 3-17 and those that see the same physician as a parent. It works similarly to a Netflix subscription or a gym membership in that you pay every month rather than per visit. See pricing information below.
By choosing to receive care at Hitchcock Family Medicine, you can be assured you’ll receive enhanced access to your physician, personalized care, cost savings, and transparent pricing. There are no co-pays or per-visit fees for covered primary care. Membership pricing is based on age, not medical complexity or pre-existing conditions.
Monthly Subscriptions
- Birth to 2 years – $99 per month
- 3-17 years – $69 per month
- 18 + years – $99 per month
- Children who see the same physician as a parent: $39 per month
*Membership fees are billed monthly. Medications, outside laboratory work, imaging, equipment, send-out pathology, and other separately priced services are not included in the monthly membership.
